I am not using anything as an excuse, just discussing the numbers. If you read my original post I said our alumni base is probably smaller in proportion to our current enrollment because of this than many other big schools. Comparing us to Alabama or Ole Miss is dumb. Would you compare Houston to Jackson or Birmingham? The only SEC school that we can really be compared to as far as student population is UF. UF has 373k living alumni according to their site and we have 350.

Forgive me. It's just that I've seen these 'numbers' in relation to A&M's poor historical showing in football for so long, it just seems to follow naturally.

But as far as A&M being a military school, that's really no excuse for anything. In this league, LSU is the Old War Skule.
