That has as much to do with Saban's ability to coach as it does recruiting.

If it was all about recruiting then he would have never won his first Championship at Bama.

Don't get me wrong. Recruiting is a good percentage of winning big, winning championships ... but I'm not sure recruiting "rankings," per se, are that important - not in college football.

You still have to have some bounces go your way. You still have to coach'em-up. You still have to have favorable scheduling. You'd better have some solid senior leadership. You'd better have some solid blue collar, hard work ethic, contributors.

Saban wins, IMHO, mostly because of his system. His recruiting prowess is the result of the success he has had working his system at a traditional powerhouse in Alabama. As someone posted just above this, we're witnessing a bit of a perfect storm in that regard.

The question remains, at this stage of the game especially, is this super class he seems to be assembling really that big of a deal? Saban has recruited lesser classes and done quite well. This super class might not have the chemistry. There is such as thing as too many stars, too many divas or prima donnas. There is precedent for that sort of thing, historically.

2 sec titles in 7 years? I think alot of programs have done that. Spare me the BCS titles, those can be bogus(LSU 2007-we had 2 losses, got extremely lucky. Bama 2011, you know the drill. Auburn 2004, undefeated in the SEC and didnt even get a shot). Sec titles show what was proven on the field based on only merit, and while 2 in 7 is good, not exactly rare
