That was a good article. The parts by the Wichita beat writer were encouraging.

Read Burwell's column. I thought his rumor about Haith and the NCAA investigation was interesting. Burwell framed that as Haith not trusting Alden. But I wonder if Alden didn't ask Haith some questions about the NCAA in their initial interview that Haith was less than truthful about. Just random thoughts.

Burwell is such a negative Nancy. I'm sure Alden wasn't happy at all after finding out about the Miami deal. Would hope he was upset, especially if Haith was less than forthcoming. Probably set a bad tone early between coach and AD. But what could be done at that point unless and until the NCAA finished their investigation. Turn around and fire a coach right after hiring him without any results in yet from the investigation?

I also suspect that Haith thought he could leverage Alden for another raise/extension and instead of being told ok, he probably got the same speech that GP got a year ago. Given the lack of history at Mizzou and the fear that he wouldn't be successful next year led to him bolting. Call it not trusting Alden or call it Haith giving Alden plenty of reasons to say your job isn't secure, I think Haith brought that upon himself.
