Update:
Had a great trip to Jackson. I had totally forgotten that the Braves have a minor league team there. I stayed across the street from the park and walked over for thirsty thursday. Braves lost, but it was a blast. I misjudged thinking that the restaurant in the hotel would still be open. Went to bed with many beers in the stomach and no food.
I am arriving in Oxford tomorrow. Staying at The Inn at Ole Miss. Glad to see the Grove is right there. I assume that downtown is a short walk away? Is a 34 yr old going to stick out in any of the places I go? Any final suggestions?

It isn't that far of a walk, but it is a walk. The Inn usually has a shuttle or van that drops people off on the square. May want to check that out, but it is walkable. Are you staying for Double Decker this weekend? Go to City Grocery (upstairs bar) for a drink.
