Some recruits are focused on the depth chart and getting immediate playing time. It's just a reality. Plus, our OC may be out the door after the bowl game for underperforming.

Staff was on top of Q. Davis early. Give them some credit for that one. Baylor seemed to make a run for him, let's be glad we got him.

Given where we are at this position, we can work with these guys for a year and try to develop a couple. Next year, the depth chart angle will likely be working for us, instead of against us at WR. That Neatherly kid from Crosby is already committed for next year. That's a pretty good start.

I wonder how bad the fallout from the Allen transfer will be on both sides of the ball recruiting-wise.

The recruiting services are really focused on measureables, because well, they can be measured. The quality of coaching, production, competition and QB play is all over the map for these WRs.

The thing you can't know is how the kid will respond to a big jump in level of competition. Some thrive on it, some don't have the inner drive. That's why recruiting is a semi-random game. These aren't robots, there is some luck involved here.
