If you're the UGA AD, that gamble is much more likely to turn out negatively than positively at this point in time.

Absolutely! One that some UGA fans would love to take while the other half would hat it. He's been so close to a couple of championships and has consistently been pretty good. I would rather keep him and give him a chance.

If Richt finally wins a championship in the next year or two, would everyone quit giving him a hard time?

Name a coach better than Richt that is available. Richt has us poised to at least contend for the East title and or SEC crown yet again this season. Yet we should get rid of him in favor of who exactly?
