Why Do You Hate LSU?
LSU fans remind me a lot of UT fans. That's not the reason I dislike them, but I dislike the two fanbases for the same reason.
You've got a ton of fans who's sole reason for attending football games is to get blackout drunk and then brag about winning afterwards. This means that for a large percentage of the fanbase, they only know three things walking out of the game: the final score, the head coaches' names, and the quarterbacks' names.
Want to discuss various aspects of the game? Too bad, they don't remember it. To cover for that, anything you bring up is a moral victory and you're butthurt about being tigah bait. Ok, let's talk about the performance of an LSU player other than the quarterback? Oh, you don't know who they are? Well let's cover that up by just saying that they're better than whoever your crappy player and then quote the score again.
On the other side, let's say the team hits some adversity. Not only does attendance plummet, but now the coach needs to be fired, the quarterback is trash (well, I'm sure everyone on the team is trash, but you don't know anyone else on the team), the SEC office is working against you, and the refs screwed you over.
But most of all is the arrogance, and I'll admit that some of this comes from jealousy, but the other part is pure pity. All of my friends and I did not start following CFB religiously until we started attending college in the early 2000s. That means that most people that I interact with that support a school that has been successful since then only know that success. They think that success is how it will always be for their team, and they squander that time. Coming in to the game late (drunk of course), seeing that the team is up, and then leaving at half time to go back to the tailgate. I was told by everyone coming in to the SEC that Bama fans would be the worst, but Bama fans my age have felt the pain of a down period. They seem to appeciate the success more. Having felt the pain of Texas A&M football over the past decade, I know for damn sure that I'm going to fully appreciate any success that we have.
Disclaimer: I know A&M has some fans that act in the above ways and I hate them too.
TLDR: frick LSU and I hope you all choke on your boudin balls.
