The point is you functionally already do if you don't play a round robin in a single year.

The SEC crowns a conference champ because there's a championship game but its an imperfect system (better than other options but still imperfect).

your coach needs to man up and win his games instead of crying for rules changes. your administration needs to man up and schedule UGA as planned instead of trying to cheat the competition by playing Kentucky instead. your fanbase would be desperately unhappy with the present arrangement if Alabama ever faced a competitive disadvantage as a result of playing Tennesse.
