The cheaper the cost - for basketball especially - means the better attendance. Can you see 120,000 Texas A&M fans traveling to a basketball game? If so, great and make a case for Houston or Orlando but if not drop your argument. Unless schools travel well like UK and UT then SEC should cater to the folks who actually show up and make the venue look filled on TV. Why do you think I harp on attendance numbers all the time?

The biggest selling point of the SEC is the atmosphere you see on TV. In football at least half the conference brings crowds that look good on TV. In basketball it is pretty much just 2 schools.
