Taking Bama to the NCAAs 5 years in a row is pretty strong.

True, but save for that Elite 8 run one year he underachieved every time. I think he only made it out of the 1st round one other time, then got blown out in the 2nd round. There was a running joke during that run that anyone that beat Bama in the tourney would see their coach get hired by another SEC school.

I won't deny he was a good coach and for the most part brought in good kids that went to class and stayed out of trouble. He brought us back from the depths of the Hobbs era, but then he just got complacent and thought he was too good to make changes. I was happy to see him go, as were 99% of the other Bama basketball fans I know.

Yea, lost in the second round as a 2 seed. Lost as a 5 seed to UWM and Bruce Pearl. Took a team that reached #1 in December to a first round loss as a ten seed. He could recruit, but can't coach and always underachieved. His only great coaching job was the year we won the SEC, and again lost in the second round as a 2 seed. Even that Elite 8 run almost got shut down in the first game when we won an 8-9 matchup at the buzzer. All that said, as frustrating as his teams were, he could've stayed at Alabama forever doing that. But he obviously couldn't sustain it, his final three years were unmitigated disasters, and he was very properly let go.
