Why would any good recruit want to sign early? They tend to like the attention and probably want to be wined and dined until the end

Just like basketball, its not going to be mandatory. But it will help with some kids, like in this years LSU class, guys like Clapp, Brumfield, and Voorhies could have signed early.

Some kids would welcome it, some wouldn't. But it could potentially cut down on some headaches for players and coaches.

There's a lot of good players they don't look for attention. Tre Williams and Roc Thomas are two that come to mind for me. They probably would've signed in the early period. They didn't take any visits or anything after they committed. (Minus Roc going to Jax state as a favor)
