Sumlin did this with a bunch of Big 12 recruits. Les had an armory of 4 and 5 stars coming off a National Championship Game appearance. It's obvious tDecline is real, and Les is a big part of it.

No offense to others who can't recruit well, but using that as an excuse of how a coach's wins are cheapened is hilarious. You can have slightly lower gameday coaching if you recruit like a sonabitch. People think that because you get these lower star guys to beat a highly recruited team once in a while, then it is true that you are a better all around coach. I'd rather watch a 5 year span to showcase that fact. Recruiting is a major part of coaching and it is those teams who win championships. This has been proven for years. Assistant coaches play a big part too.
