Just finished e-chatting with Mrs. T (she's at work). Eating dinner (green beans and a banana) now, gonna head to the office myself in a couple hours. Just chillin' now, though.
Apparently she's decided to get into the Advocare game. Her women's gym compatriots finally convinced her

Is that another one of those fitness referral schemes?

If you like South Park, yes

I can swim. Not well or for long distances, though
I prefer to snorkel if I have to be in the water, tbh.
My dad can't swim worth a lick, though
But my mom is an excellent swimmer. Like, competition-worthy.
Guess I'm appropriately in the middle on that one.

Yeah

I mean, it's her money, so if she wants to do it and is budgeting for it (she's good about that), I can't really say anything. Think she wants to sell it to other gym members and maybe my mom (who runs a personal training business on the side in CStat).
I'm not crazy about it, but it's whatever.

I'll never forget the day I saw a small child in the fountains at Shelby park wearing those little inflatable rubber things around her arms and her smug mother saying something to the effect of "Don't drown tyisha"
There was no standing water, it comes out of the ground and then drains back into a storage unit.
Swimming is one of those things everyone should learn.

My wife was nearly lured into one. Obviously I don't know your financial situation or the dynamics of your marriage.
But for me it was the very rare occassion where I told her I did not respect her decision. I told her no, and whatever resentment she held against me was worth it. It didn't take long for her to get over it. She realized I was right.
