I think we can all agree that fatigue can cause injuries, can we not?
When addressing a problem, one must fully analyze and define the problem. I think this one is relatively simple, comprising of two likely problems with respective solutions:
1. Player conditioning.
What is the best, most effective, least intrusive means of dealing with player injury resulting from fatigue? CONDITIONING. Players can get fatigued on either side of the ball facing different speeds and styles of opponents.
2. Pussy
The best solution to this condition is for FBS players to quit and get a dog.
