They were. Shortly after Texas A&M exposed his D, Saban began discussing it. Of course, it wasn't about player safety then, it was simply about style of play.

Wrong.

Everyone gets so worked up about this stuff you are distorting the facts. It's like radical right wingers and left wingers digging in on their talking points, ignoring facts, and just trying to "win" the argument with soundbites.

This is what I feel like Im seeing a lot this offseason from all damn angles

It has become an issue brought to the forefront only because some other coach (Troy Calhoun of Air Force who's team plays teams on the WC that AU and aTm are even slower than Offensive timing wise) proposed a rule change. Saban is just standing on his soapbox.

Gus and Sumlin have a dog in the fight as well obviously but both teams fans seem to be more enamored and perturbed than any of the coaches. It seems like Saban is talking in circles probably because I'm guessing he's tired of being asked about it and everyone already knows how epic his comparisons are so this BS is no different

He's preparing his answer in the form of defensive athletes he brought in this past recruiting class to combat it

That is how I feel
