Not necessarily. Look at the programs that have been to the BCSNCG and lost since the SEC streak. Where are they now? Have they been back to prominence? Did they go on to win the big game the next year?

2007:
Florida vs. Ohio State: Ohio State returns to the BCS, but once again cannot win it.
2008
Ohio State vs. LSU: Ohio State hasn't been back to the title game since.
2009
Florida vs. Oklahoma: OU hasn't been back to the title game since.
2010
Alabama vs. Texas: Texas has not sniffed the title game.
2011
Oregon vs. Auburn: Oregon hasn't been back to the title game
2012
Alabama vs. LSU: LSU has had some mediocre seasons afterward.
2013
Alabama vs. Notre Dame: Notre Dame had a subpar year after going undefeated in the regular season.

What makes you so sure that AU will follow up this season with a title appearance? I think AU will be decent, but to pencil them in for the title game because of one great year isn't realistic. In the same way as one cannot say that Malzahn will have a winning record over Saban because of one game that ended on a flukish play.

Au had a great year. Congrats on the title appearance, but that is not indicative of future performance.
