let me point out something else. Gus has never had a starting qb in college for back to back seasons.

I think it is safe to say that Bama went away from its identity because of having a much better quarterback. I remember listening to the SECCG halftime where the reporter interviewed Nick Saban and he said "We have to run the ball more." Nuss fell in love with the passing game and sometimes did balance for the sake of balance even when the running game was dominating.
To say that I think Bama will be better because we will rely on Derrick Henry et. al the same way we relied on Mark Ingram to get us to the BCSNCG in 2009 is not unrealistic.
