Serious question... how do you get so damn drunk that you can't remember a college football team running a train on you?
Getting blackout drunk happens a lot more than it used to because college kids are binge drinking and since the legal age is 21 and enforcement has gotten stricter at places like convenience stores where kids were able to buy booze (almost every town used to have one that high schoolers could buy from on the sly) some have never experimented with it in high school which means they have zero experience before being thrown into a party atmosphere and encouraged to drink as much as possible. It's easy for them to miscalculate their intake. Bars are also serving up things like jello shots and shots with energy drinks mixed in as well - all things that are easy to consume a lot of alcohol quickly and grab a few more before you 'feel' any effect. More than one bar in Nashville will send those shots to girls for free in order to get the 'party' going. The energy drink shot combo also gives the false sense of being less drunk and so people drink more. There's been no reason given but the specific bar where the drinking happened is now off limits to all Vandy athletes.
I haven't heard anything to indicate any drugs but it's also possible a date rape drug was used. They're notoriously hard to detect because they get out of your system so quickly. Also recreational drugs + booze could cause that.
