It won't matter. First round exit.
The only possibility we have for another win this season is if we beat SCar and that is a toss up.

Is there any doubt that this team will play their last game of the season in their first game of the SEC Tournament?

Um...yes? The way the tournament sets up, we'll (assuming you guys still allow me in the family ) either play Alabama, Mississippi State, or South Carolina in round 1. After that, it gets tough having to play #5 or #6. I really do think game one is easily attainable (not an easy game, but well within the grasp). Auburn would have won tonight if Vandy wasn't so hot from deep or if Auburn had been anything but ice cold from there.

Yes you are welcome in the fambly.
This is the thing. After every loss someone says this and by this I mean an excuse for why we lost. At some point you have to except that we are not good. We aren't and we haven't been for a long time. There is a lot of shite wrong with our BBall program and Barbee is part of it. What if we were .500 or below in football every year? Would you be satisfied with saying "we could have won that game except..." every week?
I understand that the demand to be good in football far exceeds the expectations for basketball.
Here is an eye opening stat.
Barbee has the worst winning percentage of any Auburn coach since 1946. And 1946 was Coach Edney's only season as head coach. For any coach that had more than 3 seasons, Barbee has the worst percentage in school history.

I'm sorry if I came off as if I was trying to save Barbee. There was something very telling that was pointed out to me during the game by a friend in the band. Tony was seated and not up, coaching during Vandy's run about halfway through the 2nd half. Barbee was just in his seat, letting it go. He may have still been calling plays, but he was lifeless. That's disturbing to me. You don't have to make an arse of yourself, but at least look engaged or like you're trying to spur your team on.

Tony Barbee's teams have gone 0-3 in the SECT and those games weren't close. I have no faith in this team to do anything when it's crunch time.

Yeah I didn't mean that to be directed at you. It was at the excuses for us being terrible. It was more of my frustration as a whole with the program, Barbee and Jacobs.
I watch almost every BBall game and have for many years. I agree about what you said about Barbee during the game. He wasn't engaged. I'm not asking for him to be a fired up a-hole either but he isn't Phil Jackson and this isn't professionals. He can just sit and let them play through it. These are kids that need teaching and guidance. Coach them.

I know. You're spot on about so many games being "what if"s. A coach is allowed some games like that. They happen. Barbee is the master of that though. Hell, Auburn is up 16 in the first half and dominating then Vandy puts two WALK-ONS onto the floor due to foul trouble and cuts it to 5 before Auburn hits a bucket (FINALLY) to end half. Auburn could easily have stepped on the throat and had the game won at half.
