I doubt the officers' version of the story. The warrant was not for the kid, but for his father. What I heard on the news was it was for probation violation for a misdemeanor.

I do too. Also do people not realize warrants are issued all the time and they don't mean you're a thug? Towns/cities in the state of Tennessee issue them for things like unpaid speeding tickets -- no one goes knocking on your door but if you're pulled over in that area you're gonna have to pay up. And probabtion? Well it's given for everything from Public Intox (could happen to anyone attending a game) Disorderly conduct (could mean anything from actually being disorderly to applauding your kids graduation *yes that happened* to an officer not liking the cut of your jib) reckless driving (get caught going 45 in a school zone or speed zone - you thug!) and so many other misdemeanors that are really a waste of court and police time and resources that it's not even funny.

Most people on probation aren't actually bad people or even accused of anything law-abiding upper middle class citizens don't do regularly. Those on probation just caught a cop on a bad day and couldn't afford an attorney.

IOW, even if the probation violation warrant had been for the victim rather than for his dad it wouldn't've told us squat about him or been enough to label him a tPOS. And it sure as hell wouldn't justify killing him.
