24/7 Mississippi ratings are laughable

Does anybody seriously think that there are actually 12 legitimate 4-star recruits in Mississippi in 2015?
Well, there aren't. Any more than there are in any year.
Mississippi produces some excellent talent, but the state still has a small population and once you get beyond the top half-dozen recruits or so in any given year, including this one, you are out of legitimate blue-chip territory.....and once you get past the top 15, you are usually well out of SEC-caliber player territory. And neither Ole Miss nor MSU has ever or ever will have a monopoly on in-state talent, which is why all the bickering over individual prospects between the fans of the two is so absurd.
Neither Mississippi school will ever be a serious contender in the SEC unless it can consistently recruit blue-chip talent from other states.....That is the key.....Freeze did it last year, but not this year......Mullen has never done it. But without such out-of-state success opn a year-in-year-out basis, neither will ever advance beyond mediocrity.

This year is an abnormally good year for Mississippi recruiting.

Thanks for the update Yancy.
It's the best year for talent is MS in a very long time.

As I just pointed out, the bickering leads nowhere....and neither does dependence on in-state recruiting. So I am not going to get involved in a peeing contest like the absurd threads already on this board (that was kind of my point)
For what it's worth, though, of the top 7 prospects in the state, one is committed to Ole Miss (Hibbler), two are heavy Ole Miss leans (Patterson and Dear), one is probably an LSU-Ole Miss battle (Peters), one is an MSU commit (Washington), one is probably an MSU lean (Adams), and the other is an Alabama lean (Lewis)
So the 7 legitimate blue-chips will probably fall 3 or 4 to Ole Miss, 1 or 2 to MSU, 1 to Alabama, and maybe 1 to LSU.

Hibbler is committed and Patterson is a lean, literally everything else in this post was wrong.

Link?
There are another 5-6 4* talents in MS this year that are either not yet rated -- or underrated -- taking the whole number to somewhere just below 20.
Basically, "MS talent is overrated" = "MSU leads for most of the talent"

Probably not accurate but in-state schools battling over 4-stars drives up subscriptions.

Y'all stop. You're giving him what he wants. To make OM fans look retarded.
eta: y'all are actually probably okay with that

Maybe, but all the other services (Rivals, Scout, ESPN) only have 7 2015 Mississippi players rated 4-stars and none 5-stars....which is reflected in the composite ratings on 24/7.
The issue that Arkansas faces is similar to the one issue the Mississippi schools face--you MUST recruit successfully out-of-state blue-chip prospects in order to keep up in the SEC.
Actually, all SEC schools need to, but, theoretically, at least, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Texas A&M could field competitive teams while relying overwhelmingly on in-state talent.
Nobody else can, though.

There are a ton of Scout prospects that will be ranked and/or updated over the next month. Still early in 2015, the other sites will reflect something similar to what 24/7 is showing now.

Shitty because it states the truth?
Go ahead, carry on with your little peeing contests over in-state recruits. Threads 300, 400, 500, 600 posts long. (Notice how you never see such nonsense involving fans of other SEC teams?)
Yapping at each other over 3-star in-state recruits while the rest of the SEC ignores you, which is what tends to happen when neither program has come within sniffing distance of a championship in a half-century.
By all means, don't let me get in the way......
