Hell, they still do this. A buddy of mine had it happen to him a couple months ago.

That's such a bullshite charge if you're not causing any issues.
You pretty much HAVE to be drunk in public to leave the fricking bar.

Thats a pretty good discription, I mean what do they think we're going to the bar for?

The OPD is scary. We go out and have a nice meal. Go to a bar and have a few drinks, and then the locals in our group get paranoid about getting home. Even with a designated driver, they are afraid that they will get arrested just walking to the fricking car. "OK. You go get the car. We will wait here for you. When you pull up, we will make a mad dash to the car so we can get away. Got it?"

Alright...alright. I have to admit...that's a good, no, excellent point!
however, in all fairness, Miles should have known how the situation went down before a homer fan did, right? I mean, we got LSU fans coming on here saying they KNOW that the team only voted to support Miles decision...and yet, Miles (in a rare moment of clarity) says that it would have gone the way the team voted. Then an LSU fan wants to justify the vote by saying the vote had precedence? I mean...it's ok to hold a vote because we did it before? I mean....wow.

Excellent point. I show you newspaper reports that back up what I said. I use video of Les Miles backing up what I said...but you say you know better. YOU have the inside scoop. YOU know what happened better than Les Miles does.
Check. If anybody wants to know the inner workings of LSU football go to wade Wilson, and pay no attention to the Head Coach...the Head coach obviously knows NOTHING about how he runs his program!

You think if Miles hadn't already made a decision on whether or not he'd let Hill back on the team he would put it up for the vote? He had already decided he was OK with it.
I understand what you are saying. And yes, I agree with you. (And WadeWilson if that was the point he was making) I am sure Miles was ok with it...my point, though, was that Miles allowed the team to make the diecision. The video shows Miles saying, that had the team voted him off, he would not have allowed him back on the team. The team voted for him to stay, so he stayed on the team.
But what kind of coach allows the team to decide?
Wade Wilson was saying that the team had no say in it, but that the vote was simply to back miles up. Miles clearly says that had the team voted him off, that he would have been off the team. The team decided. NOT Miles. Miles was ok with it...but he allowed the team to decide.
And yes...I DID harass LSU fans for Miles allowing a vote. But, it appears as if LSU let's their teams decide whether a teammate should be punished or not. As Wade Wilson pointed out, the baseball team voted, too. And guess what? BOTH teams voted to allow the teammate back on the team. What a surprise!

The question you should be asking is...HAD Miles already made a decision why did he put it up for a vote?

Honest question here...I don't drink, so I don't know the answer...do they do some type of test to determine if someone is drunk, or is it based on the cops observing them?

Usually that charge is used when someone is acting a fool (puking, fighting, pissing on the cops shoes, etc.) but sometimes they use it more arbitrarily or just for shits and giggles to abuse power.
Honestly changes with each cop.

Wow. So it is at cops discretion, then? That surprises me. I wonder how that holds up in court? It doesn't make sense for a cop to say someone is drunk because...well...I THOUGHT he was drunk. I'm sure if it wasn't such a minor charge it would go under challenge and they would have to set a limit much like driving. At least, you would think that would happen.

Well, I saw Denzel Saturday night walking around the Square, and in this case it was well deserved BUT, have had friends threatened with it as they walk out of bars, as well as some arrested for much less than Nkemdiche.

That boggles my mind how they can go with a persons opinion of who is drunk and who is not. I can see a disorderly citation..but public drunkeness? Oh well. Guess it si a good thing I don't drink...but I guess I could still get a public drunkeness citation, couldn't I?

That actually almost happened to me once when I was sober driving. We stopped at Chicken on Stick (gas station outside the square with amazing drunk food) and I sort of stumbled out of my car (lifted Jeep). Cop saw me and seriously accosted me for being "drunk." Obviously I asked for a breathalyzer and he backed off, but was funny none the less. And just shows how much it sort of is based off their own judgement.
Posted on 2/18/14 at 11:40 am to TMRebel
I guess it as a good thing for the breathalyzer. I'm shocked by how opinion based it can be, though.

So, he deserved it and it wasn't just OPD bs?

this is irrelevant considering he was arrested outside of his residence....which is a good bit away from the Square.
