It's possible that his stock could've been lowered if he had done that, but there's a lot more to it. Teams draft players regardless of their signability. I mean the Padres drafted Johnny Manziel pretty much for the hell of it in the 29th round. Regardless though I can't imagine Wass, a 4th year junior catcher, would've told teams anything along the lines that he was deadset on going back to school. Just really odd he didn't get picked. I hate it for him and I hope next year is different (it will be), but I'm damn glad he'll be back at Alabama next year.
