The kid, Matt Morgan lives 6 miles from me ( Clanton is me ) in Thorsby / Chilton county.
He said in the local Clanton Advertiser that he is off to Toronto, I wish him well.
A good defensive catcher trancends better than most positions, so I think the kid has a good shot.

Yea certainly can't blame any high schooler drafted that early to turn professional. But a catching prospect getting in the system early is especially valued by big league teams. Wish him all the best. Brian McCann had signed with Alabama too before being drafted, maybe Morgan will have a similar career 
Still no Wade Wass by the way as they approach the 30th round. I thought it was impossible, but there's starting to be a decent chance he'll be back. Would be a nice boost after losing Moore.
