Only in the sense that a few have chosen to argue with idiots and it's impossible to win an argument with an idiot.

However, it appears those arguing with the idiots are the only ones who know how the recruiting formulas work, they could articulae their points better but judging by the ignorance regarding how recruits and teams are ranked I'm not sure it would help much - some refuse to learn and others have proven themselves plain dumb.

The constant repetition that 'you're only ranked so high cuz you signed moar' makes me laugh every time I read it because the number of recruits actually detracted from the composite on 247 (it lowers our score rather than raises it) - a raw composite is like a GPA one grade has the power to drag down the average so if your coach takes a 2-3* with more potential than a 4* 247 doesn't adjust for it. OTHER services do adjust for it, Scout, Rivals, and ESPN (which 247 uses to arrive at their individual rankings and by extension their team composites make no such adjustments). OTHER services also adjust for team variances in class, position rankings, the differences in players (top100 recruits etc. are worth more than another recruit of the same ranking because all 4 stars are NOT created equal), and have player cutoffs as well.

The reason we're ranked lower on 247 than other services is 1. 247 still has our class size wrong and the extra member they count is lower ranked thus dragging down our score 2. Rivals doesn't award bonus points for JUCOs or Preps. Cutoffs are at a teams 20 (Rivals) and top 25 (Scout) for team rankings. 3. Rivals doesn't count Mixon because he's an unintentional gray shirt (sat out after things fell through at Nebraska but didn't play JUCO either) and they simply don't know what to do with him since their standard guidelines don't apply. This is also why Rivals shows 31 committs while Scout shows 32 (Scout counts Mixon and Mixon is worth some good points). While 247 still has 33 because they haven't removed Dews who as stated above is gray shirting. ESPN doesn't know what the frick is going on and is listing walkons!

247's composite is based upon Scout, Rivals, and ESPN and the nature of our class having a few curveballs like Mixon combined with ESPN being lost and 247 not updating is LOWERING the composite on 247.

Folks really do need to check out the point system on Rivals and Scout use to get a grasp on how recruits rated and how much they count. Even if you use 247, Rivals and Scout are determining half or more of the scores they use to arrive at their own composite.
