Who said the microscope is going to be lifted? Him having to do volunteer work is an example of it not being lifted.

You're still melting about this and convincing yourself that he is going to be allowed the same freedoms as anyone else. You seem like a smart enough person to realize that Saban isn't just going to let this kid loose on campus to do whatever he wants whenever he wants.

I'm not getting into a long debate about this as I've read numerous posts you've made on this topic and I know I won't change your opinion, nor do I care to.

If Saban didn't feel like he could rehab this kid, he wouldn't have taken him. Just my opinion.

Are they really going to monitor every relationship he has with the opposite sex? And even if they do, most domestic abusers have their victims manipulated to the point that they are afraid to blow the whistle. A lot of them hide their scars well.

Again, how is CNS going to watch over every moment outside of practice, every interaction with a female, etc. It's impossible.

There is also a fundamental difference in beliefs between you and I on how abusers can be rehabilitated. You think that JUCO for six months is some sort of magical cure. I think that a guy doesn't just go from yelling at his SO to choking her. Domestic violence was probably something he did more than once, and the choking incident was the pinnacle of that habit. Old habits don't just die by ignoring them, and I don't think a ten week anger management course and volunteering is going to get the job done. In most cases dv is not about anger, but it is about control. This is witnessed by him choosing where to direct his anger. He didn't direct it at another teammate who could put up a fight. He directed it at someone half his size. Control issues are much more complex and take a much longer time frame to solve. If he had spent the past six months in a batterers intervention group, I'd be more inclined to support this decision. As it is, I still think it's irresponsible of the university to admit him so soon after the dv incident.
