Cleveland Rd Elem is 26% hispanic.

Not in Brownsville TX.

In Athens GA.

Those kids have parents who don't speak english. It is hard for them to learn in a school that speaks english. Their test scores are shite.

So yeah... if you are a good teacher, stay away from schools that need you... go chase money and easy work, because as we all know, teachers sacrifice their lives to educate our children, but only if it's easy and convenient, like totally, if your passion is teaching children, run away from the brown children and go get your paycheck in a vanilla suburb...

Not sure your point here? My link is to the Bogart, GA school.

Okay, it's a valid hypothesis. Gwinnett County seems to be doing fine, though. Why? As a whole, they are 20% Hispanic and their schools, across the board, perform very well. You may well be right, but the Clarke district was very bad long before the recent influx of Hispanic students. They may not be helping the scores and graduation rates, but they aren't necessarily making them worse, either.

I'm looking at it from the perspective of wanting my wife to be safe in her work environment. If it were my wife, I would prefer that she not go the Clarke route. That is my opinion for the OP. Sorry, but that's the truth of the matter. Would you respect me more if I lied about that? That said, it's the teacher's decision and, fortunately, there are many good ones who brave the difficulties of the job in Athens because they WANT to be in the middle of the issues there and help to fix them. I respect that and yes, we need them. Unfortunately, though, these teachers have their work cut out for them.
