Any more word on those charges on Thompson? Will that affect his ability to come in under Martin if he's convicted/pleads guilty?

I haven't heard anything new, but I really doubt he makes it to campus, especially if he's convicted or pleads guilty.

Got a weird feeling that this year is really going to give a glimpse of what to expect under Martin.

It could definitely show a step in the right direction, the end of the 2013-14 season was very encouraging, going 4-2 in our final 6 games. Really showed that we were moving in the right direction, hopefully this can carry over into this year.

Many Gamecock Targets Impress

One of South Carolina's top targets, Perry Dozier Jr., was a star of the NBPATop100 camp and the performance caused him to receive a significant bump in the rankings. He is now ranked as the 18th overall prospect in the 2015 class and the 2nd best point guard.

Dozier has long been thought to favor either South Carolina or North Carolina, but is still working on setting up other visits, including Georgetown.

Class of 2015 point guard Kwe Parker (Wade, NC/Wesleyan Christian) is receiving interest from Frank Martin and staff, but has yet to receive an offer. He is also being recruited heavily by Virginia Tech, Miami, Clemson, Tennessee, and Rutgers among others.

Jerry Meyer reports that South Carolina is recruiting 2017 center Zach Brown (Miami, Fla./Miami Beach Senior) the hardest. At the Scouts Focus All American camp, Brown displayed an incredible combination of athleticism and using his size well.

Class of 2016 forward Dewan Huell (Miami, Fla./Norland) is another Miami product who shined at the NBPATop100 camp. Huell is rated as the 22nd best prospect in the 2016 class and lists South Carolina as one of the schools he is hearing from the most, which also includes Kansas, Louisville, Miami, Florida, Florida State, and Tennessee.
