IF UT has any sort of success next year, all the momentum that ATM has built up the past 2-3 years will be gone. UT will go back to doing whatever they want in the state with HS prospects.

You really don't understand the lay of the land in Texas right right now. UT could get back to the point where they are competitive with us (right now, they get hardly anyone who we want), but there is no way in hell they get back to taking whoever they want. Sumlin + SEC makes that impossible. We have a unique recruiting position now. Want to stay in state? Want to play in the best conference on the country, with the most exposure in the country? A&M is the place to do that.

For the last 15 years, they took almost literally whoever they wanted in this state. That's what A&M is doing right now.

This is exactly why Mack is gone and they brought in someone known for recruiting NFL talent.

He'll develop relationships.

I'm not saying aTm is fricked, but UT isn't going to just lay down and be fine with being subpar.

I'm beginning to see that this thread has become more about horn lovin' & Ag bashing than it is about discussion. Arguing, just to be contrary.
(Welcome to the SECr, right?)

But it's amazing how many folks are salivating to see the ladies in Austin get their house in order.

Bowing out now.
