One reason he goes with the "hot hand" is because he doesn't want to sub so the defense doesn't get time to sub. He wants to start and finish the drive with the same personnel a lot. So that means whatever RB starts the drive he'd like to keep in the whole time. But I seem to remember we used to run a lot more 2 back sets than we do now though. We should have CAP and Roc in the backfield together flanking Nick on either side.

We sub our receivers a lot, our pace has not been very fast at all this year. Even when we were in what should have been a hurry up situation toward the end of the State game.
