I am being objective. I look at more than NC's. They get the same respect from voters as Bama. When they are winning they shoot up the polls quickly just as Bama does. They get the same hype and they get the pick of the recruits.
Bama gets the slight nod for overall win % (.714 to .702)
Better Bowl winning % (.660) Bama (.592)
More Heisman winners (7) Bama (1)
More All Americans (80) Bama (55)
More Conference titles (38) Bama (27) I will give Bama the nod for being the SEC.
Claimed NC's Bama (15) USC (11)
They are on equal footing when all is said and done. Like I said there are only a few schools when winning get instant love from the voters and shoot up the polls. (Bama, USC, ND, OSU, Mich. There may be 1-2 more). Does Bama get the overall slight advantage? Possibly, but not enough of a separation to stand alone. If you are being objective of course.

Bama has won 56 more games, in 5 less seasons than USC. Double the NC's. You can attribute Heisman and AA's to early voter bias before 1990. West Coast teams and East Coast teams got all the attention before the proliferation of tv and exposure for southern teams.
The closest to Bama is Notre Dame, with 8 AP poll titles. And using the standards against them, that many like to use against Bama.. winning the bowl the year they won the title.. etc...
5 of their titles, they played in no Bowl game.
2 of the other three, they lost their Bowl game. So of ND's 8 NC's, the only won one Bowl game, the year they played.
That's not to say these teams aren't top tier teams. But realistically, taking away the bias against Bama, and applying the same standards to all teams... Bama is above them.
