Got the idea from TSR on a segment they just ran.

Does Team #118 improves or regress from team #117 based off each positional grouping?

My thoughts:

Safety: Improvement
CornerBack: Improvement
Nickel: Improvement
Linebaker: Improvement
Defensive Line: More of a question mark, but for now I'll say a step back

Quarterback: Big question mark
Wide Receiver: Huge Improvement
Running back: Improvement
Tight End: Improvement
Offensive Line: Step back

Defensive Line outgoing: Corey Miller, Dan McCullers, J. Smith, D. Hood, Marlon Walls

Defensive Line Incoming: (SO)Corey Vereen, (SR)Jordan Williams, (RS SO)Danny O'brien, (RS FR)Jason Carr, (RS JR)Trevaris Saulsberry, (JR)Owen Williams (RS FR)Kendall Vickers, (RS FR)Malik Brown, (FR)Dewayne Hendrix, (FR)Joe Henderson, (FR)Derek Barnett, (FR)Dimayra Mixon, (FR)Cory Thomas, (FR) Charles Mosley

DL and QB are the big Question marks for me. We lose 6 guys on the DL. That being said, not to much production outside of the USC & UK games. IMO it's fair to say they underachieved this year. We lose experience but I think we gain better, faster and more agile athletes. Hard to say at this point which direction this one goes. I think it's a toss up, but for arguements sake I'll say it's a step back because of the youth.

Offensive Line outgoing: Antonio Richardson, JaWuan James, Alex Bullard, James Stone, Zach Fulton

Offensive Line incoming (JR) Dontavius Blair (RSJR) Mack Crowder, (RSJR) Kyler Kerbyson (RSJR) Marcus Jackson (RSSR) Marques Pair (SO) Dylan Wiesman (RSFR) Austin Sanders (RSFR) Brett Kendrick

This is the one that is strikingly obvious. With 3 of the 5 likely to play in the NFL it's going to be hard to replace those guys. They struggled with the scheme this year but are still studs. Happy that the next 5 up all have a year in the system, have had minimum 2 years with a D1 S&C coach, and are upperclass men for the most part. Still hard not to see a step back, atleast at first IMO.

What ya'll got?

I can't argue with anything you posted. The only thing I would add would be the kicking position is another bug question mark going into next season.

I don't see how the QB position can be any worse as obviously we didn't lose anyone

Will be hard for the QBs not to improve, the question is how much?

I agree with all of that.

I'm probably being a homer, but I look for next years team to make strides. Probably won't challenge for anything of importance, but I think they'll be much improved.

If this team doesn't show marked improvement, I'm a tad worried about Butch and co.

I agree, we need to find at least 6 wins on that schedule and get to a bowl. Which is doable.

Too early W/L/TUs based off outgoing - incoming players for 2014 from each team

Utah St - W
Arky St - W
Chatt - W
UK - W
Vandy - W (Completely different team from 2013)

For sure losses (Would love to be wrong):
Oklahoma
Alabama

Toss ups in likelihood of W:
UF (Home)
OM ( Away) Catch them at a great time in the meat of their schedule
MU (Home)
UGA (Away)
USC (Away)

If we can win 1-2 of those toss ups I would be ecstatic. FWIW I do think it happens and we go 6-6 7-5 pre bowl game

Likely 6-6 maybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 7-5 if we can steal one like we did against USC last year

I don't think I can take another 5-7, I might

Do not worry, our team will not lose 7 games next year.

I just want a bowl game and a clear QB situation, both will be huge for '15, missing out on those extra practises has been killing our progression imo.

Pretty disappointed in our outgoing DL, I thought Corey Miller and Jacquez Smith were going to be dominant.
