Auburn's D had to step up. They didn't. Auburn's offense didn't lose it.


This and a fit ending considering SEC defenses for the most part were not up to SEC standards this season. FSU looked more like an SEC team this season but then again it was easy for them to dominate in the weaker ACC. Statistically Auburn was the better team with more first downs, more total yards, more rushing yards and pretty even on passing yards. Auburn also controlled the time of possession holding the ball for over 7 minutes longer than FSU. Auburn's missed routine FG and the kickoff return for a TD by Whitfield was the difference in the game.
