You've got it all wrong. He wants to be the one to eat them. He should pay someone to pick them for him. Could be his or someone else's I guess. He doesnt seem "picky".

That wasn't a booger. That was a macrocytic fuel cell. They sometimes slip out when Saban is running low. And he wasn't eating it, he was resorbing it so that his foglets can mechanosynthesize/recycle the material to make use for it elsewhere.
