And I can respect that even if I don't agree with it. As an agnostic, God's Word doesn't provide the morality that I live by. But it's not uncommon for me to find people who are critical of that.

If no religion had ever existed, where would our current standards of morality have come from?

Like it or not, many of our laws are based from precedent established years ago through religious teachings.

Would we, without the knowledge of any religion existence, have come the same standard of morals today?

I'd love to see a study of an isolated community created where infant orphans are placed (cared for until old enough to fend on their own but not taught any morality at all), teach them nothing of religion or standard morals, and see how the children grow up and if they form a natural Gov't within the community with any form of law and order.

Of course you couldn't feasibly do that, as it would be a terrible thing to do to those kids, but I'm just speaking in a hypothetical where it would be an interesting observation.
