If he left right now sure I can buy that.

He was at LSU 5 years and 7 at Bama. Therefore he was further along in build his program. It could be argued that LSU may have been down more when he came here.
This point is open to debate. You could also say he learned alot at LSU that he carried to Bama. Such as recruiting and coaching in the SEC. When he went to Bama, he was ahead of the game because of his SEC experience and already had connections with high school coaches.

Alabama will certainly have a lot of talent left on their roster but don't kid yourself that the level of recruitment will be the same. Those big time out of state recruits that chose to go to Bama because of Saban wont be going t Bama anymore.

Unlike Bama, Louisiana has the yearly instate talent to compete at a championship level.
Bama will still get good recruits just not the ones they are accustomed to getting to stay at a top end level.

It will take 3-4 years but the state of the program will decline from what yall are now.
