Just throwing this out for discussion. It came from conversation with the old guy I sit near at home games.
Would Mizzou benefit from throwing in a look occasionally that includes Josey and Hansborough both in the backfield at the same time?
Also, is anyone else bothered by running too many designed run plays to Franklin? It gives me bad flashbacks to last year. Plus, I think he runs better and is more dangerous when he is not planning to run.

I'd love to see us use a few multiple back sets. Keep the defense honest.
And I'm OK with Franklin. He's a dual-threat, so use him as one. They don't use as many designed runs for him as they used to, at least that's my perception, but I think you want him to be a threat to take off all the time. Make the defense respect him. JMO, of course.

You're making the assumption that running was the 1st option & I'm not convinced that is the case.

There are some plays where he is clearly looking to run as soon as he gets the ball. One comment from a coach I saw indicated they wanted to run him more.

I think he calls his own number a fair amount of the time. No way they called for 10 runs for him in the 1st half.

The zone read play is an option so Franklin doesn't know in advance if he is handing off or running. On the speed option, he doesn't know either. It all depends on the reaction of the defense for both plays.
I like Franklin running the ball 10-12 times a game. After all, he is 6'2" and 230 lbs - our biggest back.

If it's open I'm good with it too but I'd like to see more jump ball passes to our WRs. We have not exploited this area enough.

Yeah, I get that. I'm not sure he's the best reader we've ever seen. But he's competitive and wants the ball in his hands, and I'll take that any day.

Are you talking about more of an d 1980s pro set?
I love the idea of 2 half backs next to each other. The D can't load one side since they do not know which back is getting tbe ball. This is the anti Yost formation.
