Pretty well known but yeah hats off to Nickoe for opting to play in his last Egg Bowl and not the bowl game. Coolest, most intimidating black dude I've ever smoked a cig with at Drifters

you still in school? just curious. If so, our paths have probably crossed many times this year.

Was said in post game show by Matt. Nikoe knew Egg Bowl was his last college game and he wanted to go out with a bang.

Whitley's play this year makes a lot more sense now. Hats off to him.

Yep. Postgame, Calhoun also said Nickoe was basically "one legged" while doing all that..

I am proud of Whitley and everything, but why are we in a position that makes us put a one-legged guy on the field for most of a season? It was obvious that there was something wrong with him and that he was hurting us at times. Hell, even the last play of the egg bowl was a missed open field tackle against freakin bo wallace, but he happened to hit the ball.

Mullen seems to be loyal to his seniors to a fault. Perkins has been gimpy all year.

I think his knee has been messed up all year, even back to the last Gator Bowl.. Almost like he never really recovered fully from the achilles situation and rolled straight into this.
He was a bad mofo before the Achilles tear, and we've seen that same person in these last 3 games. It's puzzling. Hurt or not, this whole year he's been producing in practice enough to be the man I guess.

I still think Banks was hurt for the last half of the season last year. Maybe that is just me being a homer though.

I think Banks was hurt and Whitley's knee was already giving him problems covering him over the top.
The 2012 Egg Bowl was back when he wasn't yet acclimated to the pain.
How's that for Homerism?
Nickoe on pain meds = Moncrief not getting fed.

meh. He made some key plays that were great but he still wasn't the same guy. Everything made so much sense when they announced his injury

He was in position to make plays, but not knocking receivers out of the game like 10-11 Whitley. You're right..

actually I am saying that he wasn't in position a bunch. He causes a fumble and gets an interception and people just all of a sudden forget the touchdowns that he caused. I'm not hating on him. I'm just saying we should be in a position as a program where we don't have to put someone like that in the game.
