I have always said saban is just an average game day coach. Also said if Tubs could keep the talent levels similar he would beat saban regularly.

Average game day coaches lose games they aren't supposed to. Since ULM in '07, Saban has beaten everyone he was supposed to beat.

Since 2008, Saban's 8 losses have been to a 13-1 Florida team, a 13-0 Utah team, a 9-5 (SEC East champion) South Carolina team, an 11-2 LSU team, a 14-0 Auburn team, a 13-1 LSU team, an 11-2 Texas A&M team, and an 11-1 Auburn team. It's not like his 8 losses have come to shitty teams. With the exception of 2010 South Carolina, all of these losses were to Top 5 caliber teams.

If Saban is an average game day coach based on that, then Bear Bryant was mediocre.
