I don't mind quoting myself from another thread, especially since it applies here:

Hmmm... We ain't going anywhere, much to the dismay of our opponents. If we win our bowl game (likely under current BCS scenarios) we'll end up 12-1 and ranked in the top three - AND there is still a scenario where we could reach THIS years BCS championship (unlikely for Duke to beat FSU, but the possibility is there). We are on track to sign the #1 recruiting class (again) just like we have for the last several years. We'll probably start in the top three in next years polls which will allow us to pretty much control our own destiny again for next year's championship.

Let's face facts here... you LSU corndog rubes would love to be in this position and you know it.

Also lost was the "Saban as unerring, mistake-free commander to be feared" mystique. He is fully, 100% to blame for the loss.
