The only rivalry that has an argument for being ahead of Bama/Auburn is Real Madrid/Barcelona. Yankees/Sox? Lakers/Celtics? GTFO here. Those teams aren't obsessed with each other 365 days a year like Bama/Auburn are. UNC/Duke is a better rivalry than Yankees/Sox and Lakers/Celtics.

The Red Sox and Yankees hate each other like no other fanbases in American sports. I've been to games in both stadiums and have been to Iron bowls. The baseball games were more hostile toward opposing fans.

Agreed. American pro-rivalries are absolute bitches in comparison to college and especially European football rivalries. Those fans really don't frick around, and would be comfortable putting some of those ahead of the Iron Bowl. As far as any other American pro-sport rivalry, it isn't even close. Hell, I'd put the Egg Bowl as a more intense rivalry than just about every pro team rivalry.
