The Mizzou-Arkansas Cotton Bowl in 2008 sold out faster than any other Cotton Bowl on record. They like us, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility. However, the tradition of generally taking an SEC West team will probably win out. It's hard to see them not taking either LSU or A&M if either is available.

We're waaaaay past due for the Cotton to take a East team, plus Jerry doesn't care as long as the place is filled ... but it is doubtful they'll take the second place team from the East. And I'm not trolling ... so even if SCAR were to finish the regular season 10-2 but Mizzou went to Atlanta, the Cotton may not take SCAR even if Bama/Auburn went BCSing, (or both).

If Auburn loses to Bama, and that's a big IF at this point, and SCAR were to beat Clemson and Mizzou loses to A&M ... I dunno, it's an interesting thought.

The bowl selections have gotten better but I remember one year MSU went to the Peach Bowl despite only losing 2 games.
