LSU had some notable defensive play from a couple positions.

DJ Welter has gotten ragged on all year, but I finally saw a game where his play fit in very well. He had a solid game against Manziel.

Robinson, LSU's true freshman CB, reminded everyone that LSU still is DBU. He took the physical Evans right out of the game. Something when you see a player like Evans almost disappear for four quarters.

Manziel may give Bama fits, but not LSU.

Welter has had a horrible habit of squaring up and waiting for the ball carrier to run to them rather than persuit the ball. You see it a ton where he had an opportunity to meet them at the line but instead let them come 5 yards to him as he plants an waits. That type of "contain" worked in his favor for manziel.
