Just reflecting on what we've done the past 4 years.

vs uga 3-1
vs utk 3-1
vs uf 3-1
vs vandy 4-0
vs kent 3-1
vs mizz 2-0
vs clem 3-0
vs bama 1-0
beating up on all North Carolina teams for the past decade.

We've been ranked in the BCS every week for about 4 years now.

We've been he best SECe team over the past 4 years, w/o question.

Bowl wins over michigan and nebraska.

Won an SECe in '10, contended in '11 and '12, have a really good shot at another in '13. It's Great to be a Gamecock.

It's amazing to me that after all this success, I'm still upset we've been to the SECCG only once.

I remember not too long ago we were praying for a bowl game. I think our team, and now our fans, have a winning mentality.

Yeah it's crazy that an 8 win season used to be an exceptional season for us. Now finishing with 8 wins would be a disastrous result.

The odds are that we'll play for another one in 3 weeks. Even if mizz squeaks by Ole Miss, there is no way they get by aTm.

We are benefiting from a similar clause this year that helped uga the past 2 years, but with one key difference. In '11, we were the best team in the east, we beat the entire SECe. In '12 we dropped that game to uf, so we weren't the outright best. So this year is more like '11 than '12 for us in the sense that we're the best team in the east. uga has 4 losses, mizzery will have 1 or 2 more, and even though mizzery can make a case about a SEC record tie, we have the heads up against them, so it's a moot point.

I believe he's including this year as the 4th year, and we haven't played Clemson yet.

I see, I just missread where he said the past 4 years.... and confused that with the 4 game win streak we have against the tiglets.

Once we do it for a decade, or ten straight years, then we can say we're getting somewhere. Otherwise, four or five years will be considered a minor blip on the radar screen, a Spurrier induced anomaly.

We must endeavor to sustain indefinitely.

I posted this in another thread but it definitely belongs here as well.

We are to the point where other teams, such as Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida fans, are using our old patented battle cry of "Wait 'til next year!" in hoping for our decline.

I've noticed that. Not so much from Gator fans but definitely from some Dawgs and Vols. But they've been saying Spurrier is going to retire for five years now.

I've been thinking 2014 is going to be a big year for us for awhile now. Our expectations have been raised way high, and this year still has the potential to be special.

Next year is critical though because it begins the transition into the post Spurrier years. We've got him for three more seasons after this one. If we have a huge year next year, we take advantage of it on the recruiting front and thetransition is underway.

Transition to whom is the question, but whomever it might be he'll have some huge shoes to fill.

Eta: We're gonna have a beast of a schedule next season. Perhaps the toughest in the league.

We always seem to catch Auburn when they're really good.

We've got A&M and Auburn.

Not sure if our two will not be tougher than their two next season ... I dunno. This Bama run can't last forever.

Who does Georgia draw? Auburn is one, who's the other?

Yes, but aTm (if Sumlin stays) and Aub will end up higher than LSU in the final rankings next year.

Yeah AU is the only team in the SEC that we haven't beaten at least once since joining the SEC way back when. We had our chance in 2010 but we blew it bad.

... and we have to go there.

Nice place.

Should be a good test.
