I think the reason his running totals are down is because he wanted to develop more as a pocket passer with the ability to scramble in duress, rather than scrambling the moment his initial read is covered. Ultimately it will make him more desirable to an NFL team to know he's capable of both.

As far as the increased INTs - to be fair, that's partially the result of a much crappier defense putting him in situations to where he's constantly playing to catch up or stay ahead.

This is absolute truth. The defense has put a TON of pressure on Johnny to feel like he has to score every possession (which isn't far from the truth).

I honestly feel bad for him. Even an average D and his MNC and 2nd Heisman probably wouldn't be in question. However, that is life. All he can do is his best.
