I think I speak for a great majority of Aggies in the state, that we've moved on," said Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee, an A&M alumni. "We want to play the best in the country and we don't want to be stuck playing the University of Texas. Our football team is on a meteoric rise, we have the Heisman Trophy winner (Johnny "Football" Manziel), and we're building new stadium that will be the third largest in country. My point is that the University of Texas is in the rear-view mirror.

With the things that were said by texas and other big 12 schools about A&M and Mizzou, and the way the conference members, at the direction of texas, acted toward our schools, I'm not surprised there is reluctance to start the series again. I realize most of it came from Deloss Dodds, and he's leaving. But the insults hurled our way are still pretty fresh.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if others at texas were never in favor of that hard-line approach, and would want to keep playing A&M. There's a lot of history there. But they may want to give it a little longer.
