Maybe Phillip should've followed his own advice before he ran Tennessee football off a cliff.

I'm under the impression he probably said it with a smirk. I don't think he was being legitimately critical.

Idk what happened but I would be very surprised if Fulmer was critical of an active coach at Tenn. Just doesn't seem like something he would do judging from history

Not sure if he said it in jest, but I agree with him.

In fairness, UT needs help in so many positions that almost any recruit will end up being an upgrade.

Well it's not really hindsight on butch's class. Remains to be seen on whether he is recruiting enough linemen or not

But of course, Fulmer had his short comings

Returning OL for 2014 on the roster:

Mack Crowder
Austin Sanders
Brett Kendrick
Jacob Gilliam
Marques Pair
Jay Heins
Dylan Wiesman
Antonio Richardson
Marcus Jackson
John Simcox
Kyler Kerbyson
Thomas Edwards

Antonio's play may have hindered his draft status...he is probably gone, but there is still a slight chance he could return. Out of these others, who could seriously contribute next season?

We also have Dontavius Blair coming in as a JC transfer, so that is one more player who should be ready to contribute on day 1. Orlando Brown is a talent, but how many True Freshmen are really ready to contribute in their first season in the SEC?

On the Defensive side, we do not have a single DT committed in the '14 class. We have some good kids coming back, O'Brien, Saulsberry, Vereen....I really believe that our need on the OL is greater than the need at DL. Do we do the old Vol maneuver that we used to do in the 80's anc roll a player or two over from the DL to the OL?

Richardson
Jackson
Crowder
Weisman
Blair

That's the starting OL next year imo.

We have two right now, Barnett and Lambert. Lambert will play a similar role like how Marlon Walls has been used. We will sign at least two more DT this class, maybe three (Mosley,Reed,Lamin)

I saw Barnett and Lambert as DE...but you may be right, they might be a bit heavy for the style defense we are running.

Not sure why 247 still lists Barnett as a DE. He's 6'3 275 and hasn't even hit a college S&C program yet. He will be a very athletic 300 pound DT at Tennessee.

And Lambert can play DE and DT extremely well. He's got the size and speed to be great at both. I think they'll be sliding him in and out of both positions depending on the down and situation. Lambert is gonna be a stud for UT.

How many High School players listed at 275 are more like 250? I always subtract 25 pounds for linemen when guessing their actual weight.
