And they treat Spread like one offense when its a general concept that has literally 2 dozen or not more completely distinct offensive patterns and I mean of course just general outlines/strategy. And those different outlines came from much different areas/levels of football etc.

IMO I think Gus is in at AU for the long haul. Unless some very huge opportunity comes along in a few years, even then he is picky about his jobs. Remember him turning Vandy down after 2010? If he'd taken that vandy job he wouldn't be back at AU.
I halfway think the administration and Gus both knew chiziks tenure would be short lived and Gus was the guy as soon as the admins found a viable reason to make the swap.
