I can understand fans wanting to leave at 42-0 game with the scrubs simply running the ball up the middle every play.

What about the years of getting our eyes beat in almost every game and the stadium still being sold out and packed?

I was in college the first year we played Auburn here for the Iron Bowl. It was freezing cold and pouring down rain. Even though the final score was 9-0, there was no chance of us winning yet we stayed the entire game.

The thing about it is, you do have a lot of people that go and stay until the end. You do have some people that are elderly or have children and may not be able to stay the whole game. But, the majority of those leaving I would imagine are the ones that attend games for social reasons. So that they can be or sound cool that they went to the game.

The Tide Pride waiting list is long as can be and is full of people that would love the chance to go and watch the games but instead you have people that go and then leave early because the 2nd and/or 3rd string teams are getting reps. They deserve just as much cheering as the 1st stringers do because they are putting just as much time into practice and preparing as the "stars".

The assumption is that those on the waiting list will not leave early as well.

Comparing a 52-0 beat down to the first IB played in Tuscaloosa is laughable.

When was the last time we got truly blown out at home? I can only think of one instance in the last 10 years. 2003 LSU where we lost to them in Bryant-Denny 27-3.

The last time we were REALLY blown out was @ Arkansas in 1998. The final score was 42-6. I'm willing to bet a lot of the Alabama fans left early in that game.

Has Alabama ever played another university for the Iron Bowl?
