It actually pisses me off. How about support for other cancers? My wife wife had stage III Melanoma at age 32.

They wear uniforms to support cancer research.
UGA actually does cancer research.

I don't like the SGC stuff and the pink bothers the hell out of me when all teams wear it for the whole month of October.

Well.. I just lost my Mother on June 19th from Breast Cancer. I think its a classy move to show respect. Not throwing anyone under the bus,but it does warm my heart to see it

No disrespect 83 and sorry for your loss but starting to seem a little overplayed. What are the results? Are these schools driving the SGK coffers to higher levels of research funding? If so great, good on them and keep it up; but the Ducks have taken this to a whole new level.

I'm sorry for your loss, but it's a bit much to wear pink for the entire month.
Why not have a month dedicated to prostate cancer? From what I've read, 1 in 6 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer compared to 1 in 8 women for breast cancer. Not to downplay breast cancer at all, but women are more likely than men to go to the doctor and get screened for cancer. I think men need the awareness just as much if not more, but the SGK foundation has a monopoly on it.

Lots of money to be made in "cancer research". Lots of drugs to be sold. SGK CEO also makes around 700 grand a year in salary, about 200 grand more a year than the head of the Red Cross which is about 10 times the size. Best thing to do is donate locally to organizations that don't have a high overhead like these national charity organizations. I won't give a dime to them.

The breast cancer thing is such a scam. How much of the donations actually go to cancer research? And when does yrs and yrs of cancer research lead to a cure? Its like the perfect thing to market, b/c if your a woman then yeah you want to cure breast cancer and if your a guy then yeah you love tits so lets cure that shite.
If all these places like this would take and use 100% of the donated money then yes I would support the hell out of it, but they are getting their cut, that is for sure.
